Mactaquac Region
Welcome to the scenic area of Mactaquac, a charming French Village located 12 kilometers
west of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Situated along the banks of the beautiful St.
John River, the area is rich in nature with lush rolling hills, forests and glorious sunset

Named after the Mactaquac Stream, the village is located on the head pond reservoir that
was created by the New Brunswick government in 1967. The head pond extends 100 kilometers
up the river to Woodstock, New Brunswick. Just 15 minutes from Fredericton, New Brunswick's
Capital City, the area is full of culture and history from early French settlers and the
First Nations community. In addition, the Mactaquac County captures nature's best charms
