Mactaquac Region

Welcome to the scenic area of Mactaquac, a charming French Village located 12 kilometers west of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Situated along the banks of the beautiful St. John River, the area is rich in nature with lush rolling hills, forests and glorious sunset views, fun water sports, leisure hikes, and other great outdoor activities. Within close proximity to the provincial capital, Fredericton, one of North America's most vibrant small cities, the Riverside Resort & Conference Centre Fredericton is just a short drive away.

Named after the Mactaquac Stream, the village is located on the head pond reservoir that was created by the New Brunswick government in 1967. The head pond extends 100 kilometers up the river to Woodstock, New Brunswick. Just 15 minutes from Fredericton, New Brunswick's Capital City, the area is full of culture and history from early French settlers and the First Nations community. In addition, the Mactaquac County captures nature's best charms with beautiful trails, vast parks and green space. The city of Fredericton, just a short drive away, is one of the most vibrant small cities in North America showcasing Atlantic Canada's best food, entertainment and charm.
